Shaping the Future Together

The concept car was built on a fully electric vehicle platform from our partner CityFreighter. Together, we combine innovative vehicle technology with consistent lightweight construction and showcase new possibilities for the next generation of electric motorhomes. We developed and implemented the entire interior—from conception through design and manufacturing to the realization of all furniture and interior elements. The interior was consistently designed using AIRPLY® to demonstrate the potential of intelligent lightweight construction solutions for the next generation of electric recreational vehicles.

With AIRPLY®, we have developed an innovative sandwich panel that replaces traditional plywood panels in many applications while being significantly lighter. The result: greater payload capacity, more economical use of materials, and maximum stability—without compromising on workability or quality.

Thin plywood face layers

Lightweight wood species such as poplar, E-Wood, or Ilomba, sourced primarily from sustainable European forestry. Available in various thicknesses—2.0 mm and 3.5 mm as standard.

High-tech XPS foam core

Dimensionally stable, moisture-resistant, and resistant to compression and tension. The compacted surface ensures precise further processing. The EN 13164-certified XPS foam is produced in an environmentally friendly manner.

High-tech XPS foam core

Weight That Matters

AIRPLY® reduces the weight of a 15 mm-thick panel by an average of 45% compared to a traditional plywood panel. This allows for approximately 130 kg of additional payload and creates valuable reserves for future vehicle concepts.

Less weight also means less inertial mass. As a result, vibrations encountered while driving exert less force on furniture, hardware, and fasteners. At the same time, AIRPLY® offers outstanding screw pull-out resistance and high dimensional stability.
